Join Wilmington mayor and councilman to help fight cancer
Wilmington Mayor James M. Baker and City Councilman At-Large Michael A. Brown Sr., urge you to support this year’s Relay for Life sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Baker and Brown are asking at least 100 men to join them at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 14 at Frawley Stadium so the group can walk around the ballpark to bring awareness and education to the public concerning prostate cancer.
Those interested in joining the Baker/Brown team are asked to log onto the Baker/Brown portion of the Relay for Life at www.relayforlife.org/wilmington (http://www.relayforlife.org/wilmington) or www.cancer.org (http://www.cancer.org/). They can also call the 24-hour toll-free number, 1-800-ACS-2345.
Those who cannot join the mayor and councilman on Friday evening for the beginning of this fundraiser to beat cancer are urged to sign up for the Relay for Life event and participate at a time that is more convenient for them.
Relay For Life is a time to remember those lost to cancer and celebrate those who have survived. Every dollar raised makes a difference.
